Témoignage

For five years I have been trying to get our city to either stop mowing or change the mowing schedule of the natural areas around us. I have always gardened but because natural areas were being lost or mowed when I monitored milkweed for Mission Monarch, I realized we have to help Monarchs and pollinators in our own gardens.

Lately I have been encouraging others to do the same, and, gradually, that is happening! Gardening is a pleasure and enhancing the neighborhood biodiversity adds joy to my life, especially when butterflies, bees, birds and wildlife enjoy what I offer them.

My gardens are an excellent example of what can be created to help so many species, especially since native host plants are available for butterflies and moths, as well as fruit and seeds for birds, plenty of nectar for pollinators and water for all.
Sitting outside among Mother Nature's creatures soothes the soul and keeps the stress at bay.
